Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Add 1–2 tablespoons salt (water should taste like the sea).
- Cook penne pasta until al dente (about 9–11 minutes).
- Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain.

Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
- Heat a pan over medium heat.
- Add a small splash of water and sliced garlic.
- Cook gently until garlic is soft and fragrant (do not brown).
- Add canned tomatoes and crush them with a spoon.
- Simmer for 10–15 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 3: Combine
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce.
- Toss well to coat evenly.
- Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed.
- Simmer together for 2–3 minutes.

Step 4: Serve
- Serve hot immediately. Enjoy a simple, comforting homemade pasta.
